Despite their pesky ways, they are really beautiful birds! What a great photo.

I had a pet pigeon once, named Sandy Blue. He was found by my mother in our back yard, injured. We nursed him back to health, then set him free outside. Amazingly, he kept coming back and became a pet who sometimes took trips.

When he was around, all I had to do was go outside and call his name and he would come swooping down. Probably, he just saw me and came. But I always thought he knew his name.

I know some people don't like pigeons but I always have -- I like how the sparkly feathers of the neck show up so well in your photo -- it's lovely!
