Queen of night

Selenicereus grandiflorus is a cactus species. This is known as Brahma Kamalam in Telugu.

I first heard about this plant from my mother. I was very fascinated about this flower because this blooms one night a year or several years and withers within hours. I've seen this flower in pics, but never saw it in real. In my new apartment, owner left this plant's pot. But the plant was almost to end. I started pouring water and taking care of it.  On June 7th this flower blossomed in my apartment. I was so excited on that day as I dreamed of seeing this flower in real. My mom was happy as well, coz she is the one who inspired me to take complete care towards this plant.

More buds are on coming up, means more flowers on the way, which in turn means more snaps in future.

Posted under Flowers on Saturday and Pink Friday.

Cheers,
Vrinda.

Congratulations on rejuvenating the plant. The stamens look bit similar to that of Cannon Ball tree's flower.
